My 'GIGI' Life '2

Welcome back to my Booonaa Life!


Pejam celik pejam celik, dah habis satu lagi semester tapi saya ada lagi 2 minggu sebelum final exam. Sepatutnya sekarang study week but nahh let's chill for a bit, okay!

Jadi sem 2 merupakan sem yang DAHSYAT dan memang banyak mengajar saya. Like, banyak gilaaaaaaa. Totally different from last sem. There's been ups and downs throughout this semester.

Well, let's start from beginning..


 Subjects

For this semester, we have to finish up 2 modules which are

- Cardiovascular Module
- Respiratory Module

Central incisor - not the best one but good enough for a first timer 

Less things untuk dihadam but trust me uolss, MUCH MORE CHALLENGING!
Why? well just wait and read...


For University courses,

- Mandarin (oh walaa, I can speak Mandarin now)
- English
- Hubungan Etnik (macam Sejarah highschool)
- BSMM

THE SIMULATION LAB 

The place where we spend like 70% of our day here
The place where we have to finish up the projects
The place where we get to meet cool dental equipments
The place where we learn on how to be stronger
The place where we get to know the 'REAL' friends
and
The most challenging place .

So, as we enter semester 2, we were introduced more about dentistry and we did the practical inside the simulation lab (Sim Lab).

As  for now, we had learned 

-Prosthodontics (basically we learned on how to make complete removable denture)

-Operative Dentistry (ODE) (we learned about the dental materials and restoration)

First ever step that you need to do is to COLLECT TEETH!

Tips : Hantar balang that contain Dettol to at least 3 clinics.


and then you have to clean by using Hydrogen Peroxide and classify them

use 1 type of shade for composite during sim lab)

Bila kali pertama pegang dental instruments such as high speed memang mind blowing because u will realise like "Wau! This is getting real!". 

Waktu ni, the greatest challenger is You, yourself because you will have to adapt with everything including the 'Re-dos', 'Find other gigi', 'nak tolong orang tapi diri sendiri terkontang-kanting', 'ketinggalan projek' dan lain-lain.

Somehow, I'm glad that I'm in this situation because I learn not to be selfish and I also learn many new things.

Buat awak-awak yang bakal enter dental school, 

Jangan hesitate untuk bantu kawan sebab awak takkan rugi walau sedikit. Why? Sebab Allah akan bantu awak balik:)

The Routine

Basically the routine changed a little bit only.

Subuh
Wake up to solat Subuh and self-preparation time! (oh by the way, no more baju kurung because we'l be wearing our purple scrub from Monday till Thursday and sometimes till Jumaat)

10.00 am - 1.00 pm

Simulation Lab where we will do our denture and restoration projects sampai koyak rabak. bahaha

2.00 pm - 5.00 pm (sometimes till 7.00 pm)

Do whatever you want!

For some days, we also have Case-based Learning (CBL) and Problem-based Learning (PBL) with our groups  and the lecturers.

The Activities

Semester kali ni ada banyakkkk sangat aktiviti and it was fun actually.

1. Kem Ikon di N. Sembilan (under SMF)

Met new friends from other faculty!

2. Program (i don't really remember the name of the programme hee)

Basically we provide dental checkup to the cutie special kids along with their parents. But obviously i'm just a volunteer to play with the children.

5. National Intervarsity Dental Games '18 (NDIVG)

OH MY! My fav because I'm one of the frisbee player uhuu. It's been soooo long since I last play sport but somehow I fall in love with frisbee so yahh tak menang tapi experience that matter okay! (By the way, The Flyers is the first ever frisbee team from dental faculty of UiTM. jadi, I'm a proud frisbeeyers!)

6. Mandarin Role Play

This is one of Mandarin course's requirement.

7. WIRASA

I have no picture for this event because I don't know why-..-
However WIRASA is one of UiTM's event where there will be competition between faculty in UiTM cawangan Selangor. SO, basically the competition will be the singing competition, band, nasyid and others.


There are some more other events but I just cannot recall all of them so this is it.



Overall, Semester 2 give me lotsssssssss of input and I'm glad that i'm here along with my friends.

Semoga Aina Hasni dan rakan-rakan dimudahkan urusan untuk menjawab peperiksaan akhir dan mendapat keputusan yang cemerlang.

Relationship

Welcome back to my blog after a looonngggg time.

Yes. I know it has been quite some time but hehe somehow I've been busy and tired and right now i'm just trying to make excuses lol. Okokok.

How many months has it been since the day I stepped my foot here at USB eh? hmm around 8 months I think and there are LOTS of thing happening here. LIKE BANYAK GILERR.

And one of it is RELATIONSHIP.

Well, what I'm about to say is not the relationship between

a girl and a boy *sobsob   (Google)

But as a matter of fact, it's a relationship between a person with the people around her/him.


Why do I have to bother about this celah kuku punya masalah, Aina?

Yes honey, once you enter university's life, you will face this problem no matter how carefree, ignorance and don't-care-whatever-is-happening-around  you are.


As I told in my previous writing here , dental school is not easy.
We faced millions of problems + new things + new experiences + new days with new projects to be done, etc. *stay tuned for my 'My Gigi Life 2'


I am inspired or should I say eager to write about this matter because I am experiencing this myself at the moment *well not exactly me having the problem but it does involve me as a batch mates or a friends.

You know, It is hard to know what others' are thinking deep down in their heart, what are they going through in their personal life, what they want us to do as their friends and these all could be the reason why someone is giving up.

I love my friends. Never did I expressed through words nor action but one things that I'll do for people around me is pray which is the least that I could do.

To you out there, bear in your mind that whatever you are going through right now, Allah wants the best for you. Be happy and proud with yourself because nothing will remain easy in this world.


"Semester 2 have been roughed to us. Be patience my dear batch mates. We are just about to begin the war. Do not give up because this is what we aim for - A Dentist."

My 'GIGI' Life '1

Welcome back to my new-long-awaited-post entry.

Finally. Yasss. I get to post the story of My 'GIGI' Life *acah sangat tajuknye -..-

First in our scrub and btw tak cukup kuota:)

Okay. Basically, this is the story of me as a UiTM' s dental student and what we had been through during the first semester of Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

So, let's hop on the bike and ride!



The Course and Subjects

Bachelor of Dental Surgery is ain't easy yall. Well, obviously you have to WORK REALLY HARD once you involved in this course. No kidding guys. The title 'DR' deserves the hard work.

However, if you really are into dentistry, then go for it because why not? It's your dream!Just take the challenge and work your sweat off!

So at my university, we have to finish up 10 modules however for the first semester, we only have to settle down 3 modules which are :

1. General module (GM) *the most exhausting module
2. Musculoskeletal System *it's all about muscles and bones, babe
3. Haemopoietic & Lymphoid System *my favourite i guess?

HOWEVER, these 3 modules consists of 300+ topics! Yess girl. *deepbreathe


So, for each modules, there will be :

Faculty's Courses -

➺Pathology * all about diseases
➺Microbiology *the virus, bacteria, etc.
➺Biochemistry * the processes
➺Pharmacology *the drugs, medicines
➺Anatomy *the human bones, muscles, tendon etc.
➺Oral Biology *everything about our oral 
➺Physiology *the processes, etc.
➺PCPD

and for each semester (up till 2nd year only), we will also learn the
University's Courses -

➺ TITAS
➺ ELC (ENGLISH)
➺ Computer or CSC (for the 1st sem only)
➺ BSMM
➺ Mandarin (starting from 2nd sem)

Memang banyak but somehow i enjoyed the learning session:)

Oh! by the way, you will have to face Progress Test (kinda like test) at every end of each modules so STAY STRONG, DUDE!



My lifestyle

Alhamdulillah, I am lucky enough to be here because the fees are much more lower compared to other universities!

And one of the best thing is that we get our own dorm/house for the whole 5 years of study!

Our room is quite different compared to other rooms in the house

And wait! There's more! Our equipment and etc, are one of the most advanced technology and everything are in perfect condition!

So basically, there is no problems with the foods or anything related to meals because we have like 6-7 cafe (including the hospital's cafe) but sometimes, when we mengidam to eat something else, we can simply ordered from the outside restaurants and some of the restaurants can delivered the foods till the front gate (btw, jarak from college to the front gate and faculty building tak jauh pun) *jalan kaki je bruh

There will also be no problems if you want to get out from the 'prison' and enjoy yourself because you can simply ride the RM 1 Rapid Bus to Stesen MRT Sungai Buloh  or you can also ordered Uber or Grab to your destinations. As for me, I usually go to The Curve or One Utama or sometimes NU Sentral for some food hunting:)




My Routine

Honestly, if you are from Matriculation just like me, you can easily adapt with the routine because our routine at the matriculation are much more packed compared to here. I kinda had cultural shocked because i did had splendid of free time during my first semester however, you better play well with you free time or you might just waste it. My daily routine during weekdays can be concluded as below :

Subuh
Wake up to solat Subuh and self-preparation time!


7.45 am
Walking to the class


8.00 am - 1.00 pm
Lectures, practicals, tutorials or sometimes you will also have SDL (supposed to be self learning, i guess but we usually makan or rest during this time)

2.00 pm - 6.00 pm
Don't panicked! It's not like we'll be learning 4 hours straight because sometimes our classes end up much more earlier. Oh by the way, we will only learn the university's courses during these periods so there will be no hardcore  subjects and you do can chill a lil bit.


6. pm - late night
Back to our dorm, take a shower, solat Asar, dinner, solat Maghrib and Isya, get some works done and sleep.


Well basically that is it!




The People

For my batch (17/22), we have total of 80 students (*UPDATE: total of 77 students )and we were divided into 8 groups (UPDATE: divided into 7 groups) . As for me, I'm in group B (ONE OF THE BEST GROUP EVAH) (UPDATE: I am now in group A!)*shoutout to my A and B Ranggis.

So basically, we will do everything with our group mates including the experiments, seminar, PBL, and literally everything.

As for my housemates, I'm glad and grateful to know them. Special in their own way.

As for the lecturers and Drs, They are all amazing and always ready to help their students.

We did had quite numbers of activities and the latest one was the Interbatch Dental Games.

My Opinion


First semester was fun although we did had hard times especially during exam week *sangat stress but just believe that things will get better. InsyaAllah.
